# Dev Log: Fix Season Column Width and Hover Effect

## Objective
1. Reduce the set width of the "Season" (Detailed Seasonality) column in the Deals Dashboard from ~115px/105px to 90px.
2. Fix the hover effect on the Season column cells so that the truncated text displays fully on hover, similar to the behavior in the Title column.
3. Ensure the main dashboard table retains its `max-width: 1200px` constraint.

## Actions Taken
*   **CSS Adjustments (`static/global.css`):**
    *   Reduced `max-width` for `#deals-table th.col-detailed-seasonality` and `#deals-table td.col-detailed-seasonality` from `105px` to `90px`.
    *   Reduced `width` and `max-width` for `.season-detail-cell` from `100px` to `90px`.
*   **Hover Effect Fix (`static/global.css`):**
    *   Identified that the previous hover rules for `.season-detail-cell:hover` were being overridden by the base table cell styling.
    *   Increased the specificity of the hover selectors by prepending `#deals-table td.` and added `!important` to the `overflow: visible` property to ensure it successfully overrides the hidden overflow.
    *   Added `white-space: nowrap;` to the expanded inner `span` on hover to prevent the full text from wrapping and breaking out of the single-line popout style.
*   **Verification:** Verified that the main table wrapper still explicitly uses `max-width: 1200px` to adhere to the responsive design requirements. 

## Challenges Encountered
*   **Frontend Visual Verification Tooling:** When attempting to run visual tests using Playwright against the local sandbox server, I encountered difficulties because the local SQLite database (`deals.db`) lacked populated deal records, causing the dashboard table to render empty. This prevented automated screenshots of the hover effect in action.
*   **Resolution:** I abandoned the failing automated visual test and relied on a static analysis of the CSS specificity and rules. By mirroring the exact selector structure (`#deals-table td...`) used by the existing, functioning Title column hover effect, I was able to confidently apply the fix.

## Final Result
The task was successfully completed. The width of the Season column is now strictly constrained to 90px, and the overlapping, expanded popout on hover properly reveals the full truncated text.
