# Dashboard Header Updates

**Date:** 2026-01-08
**Author:** Jules (AI Agent)
**Status:** Successful

## Task Overview
The objective was to refine the Deals Dashboard UI by renaming group headers and column headers to match a specific specification provided by the user. This included updating the "Sales Rank & Seasonality" group to "Supply & Demand", "Seller Details" to "Trust Ratings", and remapping individual column keys (e.g., "Current" to "Rank", "Trust" to "Seller").

## Challenges Faced

### 1. Frontend Verification in a Headless Environment
Verifying UI changes (HTML text updates) is straightforward with text search, but ensuring the layout remains intact (colspan attributes, alignment) requires rendering the page.
- **Issue:** The environment is headless, and simply running the Flask app doesn't show the UI.
- **Resolution:** I utilized `playwright` to launch a headless Chromium browser, navigate to the local Flask server, and capture screenshots of the rendered table headers.

### 2. Environment Dependencies
The "fresh" sandbox environment lacked the necessary Python packages to run the Flask application and the verification scripts.
- **Issue:** Encountered multiple `ModuleNotFoundError` exceptions (for `flask`, `httpx`, `bs4`, `youtube_transcript_api`) when attempting to start `wsgi_handler.py`.
- **Resolution:** Systematically installed the missing dependencies using `pip` until the server started successfully.

### 3. Application Authentication
The application enforces a login screen.
- **Issue:** The Playwright script initially failed to find the dashboard table because it was redirected to the login page.
- **Resolution:** Updated the verification script to automate the login process (entering credentials and submitting the form) before navigating to the dashboard.

## Technical Details of Changes

### Modified `templates/dashboard.html`

1.  **Updated `headerTitleMap`:**
    - Mapped `Sales_Rank_Current` -> `Rank`
    - Mapped `Seller_Quality_Score` -> `Seller`
    - Mapped `last_price_change` -> `Ago`
    - Mapped `1yr_Avg` -> `1yr Avg`
    - Mapped `Profit_Confidence` -> `Estimate`
    - Added `All_in_Cost` -> `All in`

2.  **Updated HTML Table Structure:**
    - Renamed Group Headers:
        - `Sales Rank & Seasonality` -> `Supply & Demand`
        - `Seller Details` -> `Trust Ratings`
        - `Deal Details & Current Best Price` -> `Deal Details`
        - `Profit Estimates & Recommended Listing Price` -> `Profit Estimates`

## Outcome
The headers were successfully updated. The layout (colspans) was preserved, and the verification screenshot confirmed that the new names are displayed correctly in the browser.
