# Merge AMZ Column and Icon Alignment Refinement

## Context
The goal was to optimize the Dashboard table layout by removing the dedicated "AMZ" column (which often contained empty space) and merging the Amazon competition alert into the "Offers" column. Additionally, the alert (previously a warning emoji) was replaced with the official `AMZN.svg` logo, with specific size and alignment requirements.

## Objectives
1. Remove the 'AMZ' column from the HTML table rendering.
2. Integrate the AMZ alert logic into the 'Offers' column.
3. Replace the '⚠️' emoji with `static/AMZN.svg`.
4. Ensure the icon is 10px high and strictly right-aligned within the cell, independent of the text length.

## Implementation Details

### 1. Dashboard Template (`templates/dashboard.html`)
- **Column Removal:** Removed `"AMZ"` from the `columnsToShow` array.
- **Render Logic:**
  - Modified the `renderTable` function for the `'Offers'` column.
  - Wrapped the cell content in a container: `<div class="offers-wrapper">`.
  - Wrapped the text (trend arrow + count) in `<span class="offers-text">`.
  - Appended the icon logic: `if (deal.AMZ === '⚠️') { ... append img ... }`.

### 2. Styling (`static/global.css`)
- **Icon Styling (`.amzn-icon`):**
  - Height set to `10px` (reduced from initial 13px proposal).
  - `display: block` to behave well inside flexbox.
- **Layout (`.offers-wrapper`):**
  - `display: flex;`
  - `justify-content: space-between;`: This forces the text to the far left and the icon to the far right.
  - `align-items: center;`: Ensures vertical centering.
  - `width: 100%;`: Ensures the wrapper fills the cell.

### Challenges & Solutions
- **Alignment Consistency:** Simply appending the icon to the text caused "ragged" alignment where the icon's position depended on the number of digits in the offer count.
  - *Solution:* Implemented the Flexbox `space-between` approach. This decouples the icon's position from the text length, anchoring it to the right edge of the cell for a clean, columnar look.
- **Verification:** Ensuring the visual layout matched the specific "Improved alignment" mockup.
  - *Solution:* Used Playwright scripts (`verification/verify_alignment.py`) to generate screenshots of the rendered table with mock data, allowing for pixel-perfect verification before submission.

## Outcome
Successful. The dashboard now presents a cleaner interface with one less column, and the Amazon competition indicator is subtly but clearly displayed with precise alignment.

## Reference Code
**CSS:**
```css
.amzn-icon {
    height: 10px;
    width: auto;
    display: block;
}
.offers-wrapper {
    display: flex;
    justify-content: space-between;
    align-items: center;
    width: 100%;
}
```

**JS Generation:**
```javascript
let wrapperStart = '<div class="offers-wrapper"><span class="offers-text">';
let wrapperEnd = '</span>';
if (deal.AMZ === '⚠️') {
     wrapperEnd += `<img src="/static/AMZN.svg" class="amzn-icon" alt="AMZ">`;
}
wrapperEnd += '</div>';
table += `<td>${wrapperStart}${cellContent}${wrapperEnd}</td>`;
```
