# UI Overhaul: Logo and Navigation Updates

## Overview
This task involved a visual overhaul of the application's header and navigation system to match a new design specification provided by the user. The primary goals were to replace the existing PNG logo with a new SVG asset (`AA_Logo.svg`), implement specific dimensions and styling for the navigation bar, and ensure these changes were isolated to internal pages (Dashboard, Settings, etc.) without affecting the public Index/Login page. Additionally, the logout link was updated to match the navigation font specifications.

## Key Changes

### 1. Logo Replacement
- **File:** `templates/layout.html`
- **Action:** Replaced the `<img>` source pointing to `AgentArbitrage.png` with `AA_Logo.svg`.
- **Cleanup:** Removed the separate `<div class="header-wordmark">` element, as the text is now integrated directly into the SVG.
- **Styling:** Updated `.header-logo img` in `static/global.css` to have a fixed width of `266px` and `height: auto`, removing previous right margins.

### 2. Header Dimensions
- **File:** `static/global.css`
- **Action:** Updated `.main-header` to have a fixed height of `134px`.
- **Layout:** Removed vertical padding (`47.5px 0`) in favor of the fixed height, relying on absolute positioning of children (`top: 50%`, `transform: translateY(-50%)`) for vertical centering.
- **Constraints:** The header content is positioned relative to this new fixed height container.

### 3. Navigation Styling
- **File:** `static/global.css`
- **Selector:** `.main-nav a`
- **Font:** 'Open Sans' (Regular/400 for default, Bold/700 for active).
- **Size:** 18px text size.
- **Color:** White (`#ffffff`) text.
- **Shape:** Pill-shaped links with `border-radius: 8px` and `height: 38px`.
- **States:**
    - **Active:** Background `#566e9e`, Bold text.
    - **Hover:** Background `#304163`.
- **Spacing:** `padding: 0 20px` per link.

### 4. Logout Link Styling
- **File:** `static/global.css`
- **Selector:** `.header-logout a`
- **Action:** Applied specific styling to match the navigation font specs:
    - Font: 'Open Sans' Regular, 18px.
    - Color: White (`#ffffff`).
    - Text Decoration: None.

## Challenges & Solutions

### Isolation of Index Page
- **Challenge:** The user explicitly requested that the Index/Login page remain unaffected by these changes.
- **Investigation:** Verified that `templates/index.html` does not extend `layout.html` and does not use the `.main-header` or `.main-nav` classes. It uses its own `.index-brand` class for the logo.
- **Solution:** By applying changes strictly to `.main-header` and `.main-nav` in the global CSS, the separation was naturally maintained.

### Logo Padding/Alignment
- **Challenge:** The requirements specified "Logo to be left aligned to browser with 40px padding".
- **Implementation:** The existing `.header-brand` class already had `left: 40px` (absolute positioning). This was preserved, ensuring the requirement was met without adding redundant padding properties.

## Verification
- **Visual Verification:** A Playwright script was used to generate a screenshot of the header on the Dashboard.
- **Checks:**
    - Confirmed the SVG logo renders correctly.
    - Confirmed navigation links have the correct pill shape, font, and colors.
    - Confirmed the header height is consistent with the 134px requirement.
    - Confirmed the Logout link matches the requested font style (Open Sans 18px White).
