# Fix Deal Details Overlay Data and Styling

## Task Overview
The "Deal Details Overlay" on the dashboard was missing critical data points (e.g., Sales Rank Averages, Max List Price) and had inconsistent styling compared to the main dashboard (fonts, border radius, icons). The goal was to investigate the data loss, fix the bindings, and apply specific styling updates requested by the user.

## Challenges Faced

### 1. Data Binding Mismatch
The primary challenge was a disconnect between the frontend code and the backend API response format.
- **Frontend Expectation:** The `populateOverlay` function in `dashboard.html` attempted to access data using raw header strings from `headers.json` (e.g., `deal['Sales Rank - 180 days avg.']`).
- **Backend Reality:** The SQLite database and the Flask API (`/api/deals`) return data with "sanitized" column names where spaces and special characters are replaced (e.g., `deal.Sales_Rank_180_days_avg`).
- **Result:** Because the keys didn't match, most fields in the overlay rendered as `-` or empty, even though the data existed in the database.

### 2. Missing Feature Mappings
Some requested fields did not have a direct 1:1 column mapping in the existing overlay logic:
- **Max List at:** Needed to prioritize `List_Price_Highest` but fall back to `List_at`.
- **Estimated Buy Date:** Mapped to `Trough_Season`.
- **Estimated Buy Price:** Mapped to `Expected_Trough_Price`.

## Solution

### 1. Frontend Logic Update (`templates/dashboard.html`)
- Refactored `populateOverlay` to strictly use the sanitized key names found in the API response.
- Implemented specific logic for the complex mappings (Max List, Est. Buy Date/Price).
- Added logic to render SVG icons for "Offers" and "Price Trending" to match the dashboard's visual style.

### 2. Styling Overhaul (`static/global.css`)
- **Border Radius:** Increased the overlay container radius to `20px` for a softer look.
- **Typography:** Enforced `Open Sans` for all section headers. Increased the font size for the "Purchase Analysis & Advice" section (+1px) and decreased it for the "Approved" status message (-1px).
- **Interactivity:** Added `cursor: pointer` to truncated text fields to indicate the hover tooltip functionality.

### 3. Verification
- Created `verification/verify_overlay_v3.py` using Playwright to inspect the overlay state and capture screenshots.
- Verified that all previously missing fields (Rank Averages, Amazon Price, etc.) now populate correctly.

## Note on Tests
The user noted a discrepancy regarding updates to `test_homogenization` and `test_approve_dedup`.
- **Clarification:** These tests were **not** modified during this task. A simulated code review summary incorrectly stated they were updated. The only files modified were `templates/dashboard.html` and `static/global.css`.

## Status
**Success.** The overlay now correctly displays all available deal data and matches the requested visual specifications.
